Profile

Hendrik Zessel is a seasoned professional and well-respected industry specialist with over 35 years of experience in the Vancouver real estate market with a track record of building and maintaining one of the highest performing offices in the country.

In 1995, Hendrik joined Cushman & Wakefield ULC (formerly Cushman & Wakefield LePage Inc.) as Vice President and General Manager. He first joined Royal LePage's predecessor company, A.E. LePage, in 1979 as a sales representative in industrial real estate. In 1983, he brokered investment properties in the Greater Vancouver area with Dexter Properties and with the Prospero Group.

Hendrik led the Vancouver office through an organizational merge in September 2005 when Royal LePage Commercial merged with its affiliate partner of 12 years, Cushman & Wakefield. Under his leadership, Vancouver has consistently been one of Cushman & Wakefield’s top producing offices in Canada and in North America. In 2016 Hendrik was appointed Executive Managing Director and Western Canada Leader.

In addition to his Vancouver and Vancouver Island leadership, Hendrik will oversee all operations in Western Canada.

With immeasurable experience in the brokerage business, Hendrik has been involved in leasing and sales of a number of high-profile properties. He has also gained a well-earned reputation with major pension funds and large real estate companies nationally and internationally.  He oversees in excess of seven hundred deals a year, all differing in size and deal structure.  One of Hendrik’s primary responsibilities is to maintain relationships with key investors across North America.

Hendrik holds a Diploma in Urban Land Economics from the University of British Columbia and a Diploma in Business Management from the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT).  He is a member of the Urban Development Institute (UDI) Education Committee and a member of the education committee for the British Columbia Real Estate Association’s Professional Development Program (PDP) for BC Realtors.
