DESCRIPTION: The building exterior is white, cut stone with individual rectangular windows, of clear glass. The main entrance and lobby are finished with a mixture of modern features and marble clad walls. Four high-speed, wood-panelled passenger elevators service the office floors, while freight and deliveries are handled by a separate elevator. The building's heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning system has been fully upgraded, as has the infloor ducting system and lighting system. In addition a compact side loaded service core and elevator lobby, plus extensive column-free planning. Two blocks to the west of the building is Toronto's financial core, and two blocks to the east is the historic St. Lawrence Market district. The immediate area also contains a wide variety of restaurants and retail facilities, as well as first class hotel accommodation at the King Edward Hotel, just one block away. The building is accessible to and from the Don Valley Parkway via Richmond Street and Adelaide Street, and from the Gardiner Expressway/Q.E.W. via Yonge and Jarvis Streets. Toronto's central commuter rail and subway terminal, Union Station, is minutes to the south. Streetcars and buses stop near the building at the corner of Toronto and King Streets, and the King subway stop is one block to the west. This building is also known as 33 Victoria Street.
